Sabina Wilson (Kristen Stewart), Elena Houghlin (Naomi Scott), and Jane Kano (Ella Balinska) are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend (Robert Clotworthy), whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. Banks seems to be flying the feminist flag pretty high in this film. Full of 'Girl-Power' tropes with a ridiculously clunky script and seemingly unapologetically obnoxious characters. They really don't do much for the narrative they are trying so hard to push. I usually like strong feminine roles that have some real conviction. I also usually have something positive to say about most films, but this is just cringe. Like we needed another remake?!! The circa 2000's films at least didn't take itself too seriously. I give an additional token two-stars for Patrick Stewart and Elizabeth Banks' previous work.
